Oxford Man Arrested in Connection With Bank Robbery

He is one of two men who police say robbed a bank in Ridgefield on Jan. 24.

Ridgefield police arrested two men Monday in connection with a robbery at First Niagara Bank on Danbury Road on Jan. 24.

Andrew Rendflash, 35, of Oxford, and David Stiber, 45, of Derby, were arrested on warrants Monday and arraigned Tuesday morning on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery in the third degree.

Rendflash is also charged with robbery in the third degree and larceny in the third degree.

They were held on $100,000 and $50,000 bond, respectively.

Police responded to reports of a robbery at First Niagara Bank shortly after 1 p.m. on Jan. 24. According to police, a suspect entered the bank and demanded money, indicating that he had a weapon but not showing one.

By the time police arrived the suspect had fled south on foot. The subsequent investigation led to the warrants issued for the two arrests.

Neither man has criminal convictions listed in court records.
