Calabrese, McKane Nominated for Top Seats on Dems Ticket

As expected, Joe Calabrese and Dave McKane will be the selectmen candidates for the Oxford Democrats.

The Oxford Democratic party nominated to run on its ticket for the November election Monday night.

During a caucus, the Dems also nominated current selectman Dave McKane to run as Calabrese's running mate; McKane will run for selectman.

Oxford Patch was at the caucus and will provide you with more information in follow up articles.

, the Republicans held a caucus and nominated George Temple to run for first selectman with Jeff Haney as his running mate for the selectman seat.  and Board of Finance Chairwoman Lila Ferrillo will force a primary to receive the Republican nod to run for first selectman and selectman, respectively, on the GOP ticket.

Archie, Your wrong. Constitutions were written for a reason not to determine whether it's a living…Read More document or not. Politicians and or Anti-Americans only believe that the constitutions are a dead document. They are excuses to put forth an agenda. Without Constitutions this country would be chaos and we wouldn't have the freedoms we have today. Only in your eye's does the words not apply because you think government can prevent and do anything they want. It's the people that rule, NOT THE POLITICIANS!

That is looking at the Constitution as a dead piece of paper instead of a living document. Living…Read More Constitutions read as if they were written yesterday not over 250 years ago. Is the Constitution living or dead. When common sense and ordinary circumstances show that the words of the Constitution no longer apply then the document is dead. That is what occurs when weapons/arms have become so powerful and dangerous that having them available in the numbers you have in this country is tantamount to ultimate murder and chaos. This is definitely not what the Framers had in mind as shown by the words prefacing the 2nd amendment referring to a militia.
