New Oxford Town Hall Hours Revealed

Town Hall will be open five days a week beginning next week.

 

Starting next week, the Stephen B. Church Memorial Town Hall in Oxford will be operate five days a week.

Town Hall, which is currently open only four days a week, will be open on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. for residents to come in and obtain applications and permits. Also, the Pomperaug District Department of Health will have hours on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m.

In the event Monday is a holiday, Tuesday hours will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For the first time in decades, Town Hall will be open on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the convenience of the public, said First Selectman George R. Temple.

He said being open five days a week will show accountability and professionalism.

“I think this is a good solution to making town hall run better,” said Temple.

The new hours are subject to change.

Effective Oct. 1, 2012

MONDAY

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All Departments and Senior Center
9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Planning and Zoning, Inland Wetlands, Assessor, Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Building Official
3 to 7 p.m. Pomperaug District Department of Health
8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Library
7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Public Works

TUESDAY

9-5 p.m. All Departments and Senior Center
If Monday is a holiday town hall will be open 9 a.m. to 7 pm. and Monday schedule applies to Tuesday.
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Library
7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Public Works

WEDNESDAY

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All departments and Senior Center
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Library
7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Public Works

THURSDAY

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All departments and Senior Center
8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Library
7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Public Works

FRIDAY

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All departments and Senior Center (except EDC director and Grant Writer)
Building Department open 9 to 11 a.m.
(Inspections 11 a.m. on, but off premises.)
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Library
7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Public Works
