Oxford Leaders to Thank Volunteers, Town Workers

A reception will be held on Nov. 1.

All elected and appointed committee, commission and board members serving in the Town of Oxford, along with volunteers, staff, residents and friends, are invited to stop by the S.B. Church Memorial Town Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 1 to meet with the members of the current Board of Selectmen at an informal open-house.

First Selectman Mary Ann Drayton-Rogers will host the event along with Selectmen David Yish and David McKane. Between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., the board members wish to thank those attending for their dedication, hard work, support and friendship over the last two-to-four years.  The current members have served together since the 2009 election, while Drayton-Rogers and McKane have been on the board together since 2007.

Drayton-Rogers said she sincerely wishes to thank everyone who can stop by for a brief visit that will include cake and coffee.

“Oxford is well served by many volunteers who put in countless hours of work in taking on various town oversight responsibilities, running activities, planning events and working toward long-term capital projects and caring for the residents safety," she said. "Each one as important as the other. I look forward to shaking many hands and letting them know how appreciative I am for their efforts.”

The open-house will take place in the main meeting room of Town Hall.
