Snow Removal Ordinance Goes Into Effect Dec. 1

The town reminds residents of the parking ban law.

Town officials remind residents of the parking ordinance for snow days. The following is the full text of the ordinance:

"Any constable, police officer or road foreman or his assistant is hereby authorized to have removed and towed away by commercial towing service, any car or other vehicle parked within the limits of any highway in such a manner as to obstruct snow removal between the hours of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., from Dec. 1 to the ensuing March 31.

"Cars so towed away for illegal parking shall be stored in a safe place and shall only be restored to the owner or operator of such vehicle upon payment of the cost of towing and storage fees.

"There shall be no liability attached to such person having any vehicle towed away, pursuant to the terms of this ordinance."

Regarding snow removal, I'm concerned about the Great Hill Road project. With the road widening, it looks like every mailbox is now right on the edge of the paving. I would hate to see an entire stretch of mailboxes being taken out by plows during the first storm.

they got mine last year, Mine and the two befor it...lol it was alot of snow they were throwing, i guess all that weight and force was too much, it snapped the arm holding the mailbox to the post right off! lol
