Temple to Elected Officials: Now You Have to Live Up to Promises You Made

The first selectman thanks voters for their support, vows to reach across the political aisle for the betterment of the town.

To the Editor:

I would like to thank all the voters in Oxford for the confidence that they have shown in our administration. I learned a lot from speaking with the townspeople and we received many positive suggestions. For all the candidates who were successful, I congratulate you but also remind you that you now have to live up to the promises you made. For my part, I will continue to be positive about the town and make progress in town improvements. I also assure you that I will be keenly aware of the financial impact on our homeowners and will do my best to help keep taxes manageable.

Every race has a winner and a loser. Unfortunately some good people from the Democratic side did not get elected. To my party’s opponents, I extend my hand and ask you to contact my office if you would like to serve on a committee. Oxford Together means that there is no room for arrogance or gloating. We sincerely invite you to join us.
