Oxford Board of Education Searching for New Schools Superintendent

Residents can fill out an online survey.

The Oxford Board of Education is beginning its search for its next superintendent of schools and members want to hear what the public thinks about what they’d like in the next schools leader.

Here is a press release from the Oxford Board of Education concerning the search process:

“The Oxford Board of Education is beginning the search for a new Superintendent of Schools. The Board has selected CABE Search Services, an executive educational search firm to facilitate the search process. Dr. Mary Broderick, CABE Search Consultant will lead the team. Mary served on a local school board for 22 years and served most recently as President of the National School Boards Association.

The first step in the search process was to seek input through focus groups to learn about strengths and challenges as well as leadership qualities desired in the next educational leader for Oxford. Focus groups included school staff, parents, elected officials, business and services club leaders, and other community members in order to have a broad range on constituents provide input to the search process. An online survey is available on the district web site at www.oxfordpublicschools.org for the month of June.

The selection of a Superintendent of Schools is one of the most important responsibilities of a school board and the Oxford Board encourages everyone to participate as the Board values your input.”
