OXFORD – The Oxford Board of Education will host a meet and greet ceremony to honor new school Superintendent on Thursday night.

In a note to the Oxford community, Board of Ed. Chairwoman Paula Guillet says: “Please take a few minutes to join us in extending a warm welcome and enjoy some refreshments and finger foods and personally meet our new superintendent. We look forward to seeing you Thursday.”
Connellan, 58, comes to Oxford from Bethany, where he oversaw one elementary school. He was the director of student services in North Haven for eight years, head of special education services in North Haven for two years prior and served as Bethany’s superintendent for seven years.
A married father and grandfather, Connellan lives in Southington.
When he was hired this summer, Guillet said of Connellan: "Those who worked with Tim most recently said he is one of the rare individuals who is a knowledgeable educator and an excellent manager, an articulate communicator with strong interpersonal skills, excellent judgement and the highest level of integrity.
"Tim has an unwavering focus on what is educationally sound for students. He rolls up sleeves and addresses problems thoughtfully and always in a collaborative, sensitive manner."
