The team is leaving today for Florida, where they'll compete for the national championship. Oxford Patch caught up with them before they hit the road.

Oxford High School's Cheerleading Team is going up against the best of the best in their sport.

The team is on their way to Disney World in Florida, where they'll compete in the UCA National High School Chearleading Championships. There will be hundreds of teams there, 28 in Oxford's division.

"These are literally the best cheerleaders in the world," says Steve Wright, the choreography director and assistant coach.

The team is no stranger to the national stage, either. They placed 14th when they competed two years ago.

"Our personal goal is to compete in finals," Wright says.
