The Oxford Public Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday as town officials and Connecticut Light & Power officials clean up after the rare October nor'easter.
The school posted the information on its website Wednesday afternoon.
As of Wednesday, all four schools had power but Quaker Farms School is still being used as a temporary shelter, trees and wires are down all over town and 3,352 Oxford CL&P customers, or 63 percent of them, were still without power.
It is not clear when those days will be made up, i.e. whether school will be opened during spring or winter break. We will update you when we know.
