Boys' Volleyball Players Earn State Honors

Costigan is Connecticut player of the year.

The Oxford High School boys' volleyball team took home more awards Thursday night at the state high school volleyball banquet.

Senior Bobby Costigan was named Connecticut High School volleyball player of the year. Senior Jason Mraz was named the Academic All State team, while Costigan, Pat Cragan and Ed Carver, both juniors, were named to the All State team.

Costigan, who set a record for most kills in a high school volleyball career in Connecticut, will play volleyball for Div. 1 Sacred Heart University in the fall.

The Oxford volleyball team was undefeated on the season and won the state Class M volleyball championship.

Congratulations to the players and coaches.
