The Oxford High School boys volleyball team lost its first game of the season to Southington on Friday.
The Wolverines, who were playing without 6-foot, 7-inch co-captain J.T. VanKamerik, lost 25-20, 26-24 and 25-18. Oxford is now 3-1 on the season, while Southington improves to 4-0.
Setter Pat Cragan had 33 assists, while co-captain Rob Costigan had 18 kills for the Wolverines.
The volleyball team defeated Daniel Hand 3-1 on Thursday. The scores were Oxford 25, Hand 13; Oxford 21, Hand 25; Oxford 25, Hand 15 and Oxford 25, Hand 22.
Costigan led the Wolverines with 33 kills and six digs. Jason Mraz had 12 kills and 10 blocks. Kragan had 43 assists and seven digs.
