Oxford Cross Country Performs Well at Invitational

Unfortunately, Oxford lost a top performer and its senior captain, Marcea Stilson, to injury.

 

Noah Burdis set an OHS Freshman Record in the Freshman Race at the Windham Invitational on Saturday. His time was 15:21 and he came in 168th out of 271 runners. Savada Robinson also set a OHS Freshman Girls Record in the Girls Freshman race with at time of 14:56. She came in 8th out of 158 runners. Freshman Rebecca Buswell also eclipsed the previous freshman mark with a time of 15:22 and placed 28th. Elise Aubry 17:42, 88th and Emily Bockisch 20:10, 137th also ran well for the OHS Freshman. The freshman race was 2.1 miles.

Cameron Swift placed 16th over over the 3 mile course in a time of 17:30. Zach Frew 17:54, 28th and Brandon Au 18:26, 48th, Sean Coffindaffer 20:25, 126th and Rob Lee 21:51 151st rounded out the scoring for the varsity team. The boys placed 14th overall out of 31 teams.

Olivia Richter came in 6th overall in a time of 19:18 for the 3 mile course. Brianna Hoffner 22:18, 43rd Giovanna McMahon 24:50, 100th and Lindsey Koski 25:56, 112th ran in the Varsity Race.

On another note, Oxford lost senior captain, Marcea Stilson, for the rest of the season with a stress fracture in her leg. Stilson is the most decorated athlete in OHS history, with 3 All-State Honors, 2 All-SWC 1st team selections, 3 All-SWC honorable mention selections and she holds or held over 15 school records. She has been selected to the All-Area team 2 times and has never placed outside the top 12 in any of her cross-country or track meets.
