Oxford Football Rolls in Season Opener

The Oxford High School football team kicked off its season with a 23-6 win over Weston on the road Thursday.

The Wolverines, who finished 8-2 and barely missed the state playoffs in their 2012 campaign, were led by Quarterback Kyle Chudoba, who completed seven passes for 145 yards and one touchdown.

Marcus Esteves rushed 11 times for 54 yards, while Steve Pearson had 11 carries for 49 yards. He also had one interception on defense.

Chris Van Kamerik had two interceptions from his defensive back position, while he caught two passes for 43 yards. 

Kevin Loschiavo had four catches for 94 yards.

Oxford plays next at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at New Fairfield High School.
