Oxford Football Wins Thriller

The Wolverines go for 2 at the end and the decision pays off.

The Oxford High School football team went for two and the win rather than kick an extra point that would have tied the game Saturday against New Fairfield at home. The decision by Coach Joe Stochmal proved to be a great one.

Senior quarterback Brennen Diaz rolled out and hit junior Jeff Haney in the end zone for the conversion late in the fourth quarter and Oxford went up 22-21, a lead they never relinquished.

Diaz passed for 336 yards and three touchdowns for the Wolverines (5-2).

Most of those passing yards came from completions to junior wide receiver Chris VanKamerik, who had 265 receiving yards; he scored all three of Oxford’s touchdowns on passes of 24, 61 and 55 yards.

New Fairfield moves to 4-3 on the season.

There is a relatively new playscape at posypanko for town use. The one at Center School is fromRead More before QFS was built. The monkey bars are too small for the kids to even fit under. My point is if there is money to spend, and we want a playscape, how about fixing one that is used everyday.
