Oxford Girls Win SWC Championship

Wolverine cheerleaders take league crown.

The three-time Class S state champion Oxford Wolverines girls cheerleading team won the South-West Conference tournament on Saturday at Newtown High School.

This marks the first time Oxford has won a league championship in which, unlike in state tournament action, teams compete against a variety of different classes, which are divided by school size.

The Wolverines defeated Joel Barlow by 11 points. Newtown took third. (We will update the story with full results and more from the team later.)
