Oxford High Wrestlers Continue Solid Season

The team is .500 on the season heading into the homestretch.

In week seven of the regular season, the Oxford High School wrestling team made a comeback last week with several of their injured or sick wrestlers back on the mat.  Last Wednesday, the Wolverines defeated South-West Conference rival Immaculate/Joel Barlow at an away match.

On Saturday, the Oxford wrestlers headed to Portland to compete in the Highlander Duals.  Oxford went 3-1 on the day, with Junior Steve Persson (152 lbs) winning the Outstanding Wrestler award at this competitive event.  With five schools competing, each with 14 weight classes, this was a very impressive achievement and a first for an Oxford wrestler.
