High school teams, including Oxford, competed in the rain on Monday in Bethel. Girls results posted below.

A little water didn't stop these local teens from showing off their skills on the track Monday.

The South-West Conference high school boys and girls track and field championships were held at Bethel High School during an on-again, off-again rain storm.

The following are Oxford girls results from Coach Ed Lucas. (We will post the boys results when we get them.) 

The Oxford Girls Track team came in 8th, 44 pts, out of 15 teams at the SWC Track and Field Championships Monday at Bethel High School.

  • The 8th place finish is the highest ever team place for the girls team. 
  • The 4x800 meter team of Caylee Richardson, Sara Thorpe, Olivia Richter and Marcea Stilson came in 3rd overall with a school record time of 10:13.
  • The 4x100 meter team of Corrinn Niski, Hannah VanBuiten, Audrey Pratt, and Sara Thorpe came in 8th place overall with a season best time of 54.03.
  • The 4x400 meter team on Hannah VanBuiten, Lindsey Koski, Corrinn Niski and Sara Thorpe came in 11th with a time of 4:54
  • Corrinn Niski came in 12th in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 51.5
  • Hannah VanBuiten came in 14th in the 400 with a time of 65.07 and 16th in the 100 meters with a time of 13.8
  • Olivia Richter came in 9th in the 800 meters with a school record time of 2:34.36 and she came in 9th in the 1600 with a time of 5:31
  • Sara Thorpe came in 19th in the 800 meters in 2:42
  • Caylee Richardson came in 2nd in the 3200 shattering the school record with a time of 11:41. She also came in 8th in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:30.
  • Marcea Stilson came in 8th in the 3200 with a time of 12:02 and 6th in the 1600 with a school record time of 5:29
  • Audery Pratt came in 8th in the shot put with a throw of 29-3.75
  • Taylor Drayton defended her SWC Title in the shot put and Discus by throwing 35-9 and 108-9, respectively.
  • Drayton earned ALL-SWC 1st Team honors and Richardson earned All-SWC 2nd Team honors.
  • The Girls 4x800 Team earned ALL-SWC honorable mention.
  • 8 of the 9 girls who competed scored points in the meet.

So far this season 25 school records and 44 class records have been set.

The girls next meet is Wednesday May 30 @ Willowbrook Park in New Britain for the Class S Championships at 2:30 pm.

Hannah VanBuiten - 4x100, 4x400, 100, 400

Taylor Drayton - Javelin, Discus, Shot Put

Audrey Pratt - Shot Put, 4x100

Marcea Stilson - 4x800, 1600, 3200

Olivia Richter - 4x800, 800, 1600

Sara Thorpe - 4x800, 4x400, 800, 4x100

Lindsey Koski - 4x400

Becky Gumbrewicz - 4x400

Marta Zeglen - 4x100, 4x100

Caylee Richardson - 4x800, 1600, 3200
