Men Who Cook Fundraiser Slated for April 14

Oxford residents and several people from other Naugatuck Valley towns will participate in the event in Ansonia to raise money for TEAM Inc.

Naugatuck Valley men will cook and serve their special dishes on April 14 at "Men Who Cook," a fundraiser for TEAM Inc., a non-profit corporation whose mission is to connect individuals and families with solutions that lead to well-being, self-sufficiency and full participation in the community.

At the event, atendees can sample Grilled Stinging Wings, Roadside Chili, Chipotle Chicken Tacos or Sicilian Special Spicy Pasta. A Here's the Beef portion will include Zap’s authentic Italian Meatballs, beef stroganoff, rouladen and red cabbage, steak on a stick, kielbasa and kraut. If poultry is your wish, then try chicken marsala, buffalo chicken sandwiches, barbecue wings, smoked turkey or teriyaki chicken.  Also on the menu are pulled pork, porketta, sides of mac and cheese, scalloped potatoes and Greek pasta with feta/veggies. Like fish and veggies, no problem as the following will be served: gazpacho, eggplant lasagna, penne with vodka sauce, grilled shrimp and seafood gumbo. And don't forget to leave room for dessert that includes chocolate mousse, coconut cupcakes, key lime pie, brownies, tres leches cake, raspberry crème brule and much more.

Special MC for the event is Chaz of "Chaz and AJ" in the morning on 99.1 FM, WPLR, Connecticut's number one morning show. "Men Who Cook" begins at 6 p.m. and goes to 11 p.m. at Warsaw Park in Ansonia. Tickets are $55 per person and the price of admission includes food, beer/wine and soft drinks. There will also be a silent auction, and people can dance off calories with music. Tickets must be obtained in advance; see www.teaminc.org for details.
