St. Baldrick's Event Raises $36K Plus

Oxford man, who is a Waterbury firefighter, organizes the annual event.

Waterbury Firefighter Tony Cuomo, an Oxford resident, says the St. Baldrick's event that he organizes to raise money to help search for a cure for children's cancers raised about $36,000 this year.

The event was held a few weeks ago in Waterbury. Cuomo thanks Brass City Barber and Salon of Waterbury, Kenecticut Hardware of Oakville, Freihofers of Waterbury, and Crystal Rock of Waterbury.

He said 107 people shaved their heads.

"Thank you to all who attended and helped out," he said on the event's Facebook page. "You all made a difference."
