@Dan: You have your right to bear arms here in CT. In fact you enjoy lots of freedoms in our state…Read More since we are one of the most liberal in the nation.
On the other hand, gun control is a national issue and a huge one. PTR sells their guns-to-kill on a national basis, so what is the real problem? Perhaps the NRA?
I believe this was a very poor business decision on PTR's part. They cannot keep running, you know.
I applaud our governor for enacting stronger laws to protect citizens. As Mr. Heim stated in another article, the new laws are not perfect. But they are a beginning to preserving life and not killing it.
As far as curbing violence, that would be up to us as individuals to become more socially evolved, wouldn't it?
Dan April 12, 2013 at 02:57 pm
Can't blame them. But I can and will blame Malloy. We need politicians that will protect our…Read More freedoms and not ignore our constitution for a couple of feel good laws that will do nothing to curb any sort of violence. Malloy is week and worthless and will do nothing for the people of this state but strip us of our rights. You know Mr.Malloy, it looks as though you will get to see first hand what its like to be in the unemployment line.

That a boy TK. Anyway, what's another 40 jobs to you, right? This won't affect YOUR life, so who…Read More cares, right? (May your taxes increase until they choke you). Is this, the loss of another forty jobs in this great state of ours, going to be the thing that saves you from the terror that is the people who own a rifle such as the ones manufactured by PTR? And thank you (again) Mr. Malloy. You couldn't have just stuck with the things that made sense...the criminal and mental illness background checks, the treatment of people with mental illness, the education of the masses regarding violent video games and their desensitizing effect on children, straw purchases, etc. You had to take the road that would gain you the most political capital and bolster you name on the backs of this terrible circumstance. Well sir, you may want to take Admiral Yamamoto's famous quote "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve" to heart. I will cat my vote fro your opponent from today forward and will do everything I can to influence everyone I know to do the same. You should be ashamed.

Jennie is an awesome teacher/advocate for the young.
She teaches her students life lessons. In her…Read More classes, her "kids" have to make a business, they have to select a slate of officers, profit and loss statements, they even sell stock in their company. She teaches them how to succeed in the real world. Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is another organization she participates in with her students.
Congratulations, Jennie, another job very well done!
You make us proud.

When will the people of CT stop voting in Democrats?? This is ridiculous. If you dont have a job and…Read More pay taxes or are in the military, you shouldnt be allowed to vote. Im tired of people who have no skin in the game forcing us hard working citizens to pony up more money for their education, lifestyle, 3 course meals and subsidized housing, etc. At this rate Ill either be joining them or moving out of the state.
Joe Blow March 19, 2013 at 02:13 pm
Another ruse to suck the money from hard working people to shore up underfunded union pension funds…Read More and give the money away to the bleeders of society who don't work to buy votes. Boy, those Dems really hit a home run with the "global warming" scam and doing everything humanly possible to keep the price of oil up.

I was pleased to see the work being done to bring back Oxford House and save it from further decay.…Read More I did see two dumpsters during the day, but they were cleaning out so rapidly, it appears they had a temporary pile of debris out in front. I took it as a sign of enthusiasm and rapid progress, not disrespect.

"i dont need a flu shot" but are now all running around trying to get one..lol its almost as if they thought it was cool to NOT get the shot untill they saw everyone else go to get one, then they thought theyd better get one too! lol

What exactly could bring economic development except more flights? But I don't understand what that…Read More airport will be connecting. What needs to get from where to Oxford, & how does that entice companies to move to the area & bring jobs? Infrastructure is great if there is a reason for it. You can't develop infrastructure & then backfill retroactively the need for infrastructure. This doesn't sound like a very well thought out plan, except to get free money to expand the airport for no or yet to be determined reasons.
Paul Singley (Editor) January 10, 2013 at 02:57 pm
Hey Rich and Bonnie: I honestly did not think of the fact that this may bring bigger planes and more…Read More flights. I will look into that and report a follow up. Thank you for voicing your concerns.
